i've had static by flavor foley on LOOP lately. it's so fucking good. i decided impulsively that i wanna cosplay the miku from it which doesn't really seem that hard ?! i got a blue blazer from savers for like $10, and all i really need to do at this point is paint one of my black skirts and get a bow tie. doubt i'll finish it before my trip to albania but i can try!!
i honestly love cosplaying on a budget. like yes it's nice to have accurate company made costumes but there's just a nice feeling that comes along with diying a cosplay. like yeah!! i made this myself!!!
i understand why some people see cosplay as sort of daunting to get into bc it seems really expensive-- which it can be! whenever i'm working on a new cosplay / i wanna buy one i have to set aside money in advance cuz it'll cost me a bit. but those costs don't have to come from an $100 costume on dokidoki-- they can also go toward getting every part of the cosplay yourself and making it from the ground up, which i think is even more rewarding
side tangent, it cracks me up so bad when people use jobless/unemployed as an insult towards cosplayers/alt fashion/merch collectors.... like this isn't mommy and daddy's money i had to afford all this somehow!!
i don't know if i'll put photos of my cosplay here, but i might make another blog entry with the step by step process (and the cost breakdown!)
